St. Benedict's Bennetts End

St. Benedict's Bennetts EndSt Benedict's is a friendly, lively, and growing church that welcomes people of all ages. We aim to be an active church family, valuing and supporting one another and reaching out to the local community.

We have a lively and dedicated congregation, with many young families and children and some older people who are still very young at heart! We aim to build relationships within the church community and we meet together regularly for social and fundraising events. The Revd Lauretta Wilson is Team Vicar, we have 2 Lay Readers - Paul Cook and Bob Day, a dedicated lay team and a Musical Director All are committed to growing in faith, and together bear witness to God's love and concern for all the people of the church and parish.

Groups and Activities at St. Benedict's

St. Benedict's ActivitiesDuring weekdays, the church hall is used for Parent and Toddlers, two groups of Brownies, Rainbows, children's workshops and groups from the community. We have a lively group of young people and committed leaders. Each October half term we have run children's workshops that are open to everyone, including this one - 'Super Saints'!

Church and Community

The church believes it is here to enable its members to grow in faith and serve the parish in a practical way by providing resources and enabling community projects e.g. Parent and Toddler Groups and Uniformed Groups. The hall is used to provide a home for many local community groups.

St. Benedict's ActivitiesThere are well-established links with local primary schools - school groups visit the Church for R.E. lessons and special services, and we are always delighted to welcome choirs to sing in the Church (as Hobbs Hill choir did at Harvest Festival). The church is also active in school through assemblies.

Bennetts End has an excellent community centre and the church is pleased to be present at the lunch club for elderly people. Those who are housebound are also visited by members of the church and some receive Holy Communion at home.
